Hello everyone,
This week’s episode is a little different — it’s a bridge piece between where The Rocketeer has been and where it’s headed next.
Eight years after I started this as a simple newsletter and four years after it became a podcast, the Rocketeer is evolving once again. Beginning in May 2026, it will shift to a monthly format with longer, deeper episodes (roughly one to one and a half hours). These will allow me to explore the pulp era and early 20th-century popular literature with the depth it deserves.
In this episode I talk about what that change will look like, including the completion of the Amazing Stories Centennial Counterfactual series, new episodes on “invisible” pulp writers, short monographs, and how The Rocketeer will become a living part of the research and museum work I do at Lucina Press and Flying Pony Studios.
The mission stays the same: to explore popular literature, recover forgotten history, and place it in meaningful context for modern readers — all while continuing to create new stories and art in the classic pulp tradition.
The new monthly episodes will drop on the third Wednesday of each month at 2:30 PM Pacific, starting in May.
I hope you’ll come along for the ride.
