In this week’s Rocketeer podcast I’m talking the mythology of the planet Saturn and the origins of the word, “Satan.” And, oh yes!, the pulp story, “Satans on Saturn” by Hoffman and Kline.
I misspoke in the podcast saying that I’d already done several posts about Otis Adelbert Kline. This is not true I have done one:
Kline's Planet of Peril (Venus) trilogy: https://lucinarocketeer.substack.com/p/klines-planet-of-peril-venus-trilogy
I was thinking about a forthcoming book project I’ve been working on concerning the novel, Comos which includes work by Kline and Hoffman. Sorry for the confusion.
The question of the week is—was the novel, “Satans on Saturn” ordinary pulp fare or was it hinting at a complex history associated with the planet Saturn? We are certainly fascinated by that ringed planet. We have discovered other ringed bodies in the system now, and yet Saturn remains firmly fixed in our imaginations. If you do some research, you will find much more information about the planet Saturn and how it may be affecting us Earthlings. Try exploring “conspiracy theories about the planet Saturn,” Immanuel Velikovsky’s information about Saturn and the Thunderbolts Project.
