Great episode! Discovering William Gibson was a moment outside time. That first read was such a jolt of strangeness, yet familiar in setting. Johnny Mnemonic and the Gernsback Continuum are my favorites from that collection.

Fredric Brown is a writer who has been recommended to me a lot on X, but for his mysteries and crime thrillers.

I'm glad you enjoyed the episode! :) Gibson is important, he's a temporal marker in popular literature. And Fredric Brown is great, I've never read anything of his I didn't like. He was also, pretty much, the inventor of microfiction. A highly recommended author. Cheers! :)

Yes Gibson become a ground zero cultural event, and the impact of Neuromancer is something we're still feeling today. I'm curious about the up and coming series.

Fredric Brown has a solid reputation. I'll try to read his work this summer;)
