In this week's podcast I'm talking about two stories about humans on Mars colonizing Earth of the far past: “Genesis” by H. Beam Piper and “Man of Two Worlds” by Bryce Walton.
LOL Now WHO would want me to read the stories...? ;-) I was just "told" how awful it was to try and create your own audio books. I laughed at that because I enjoy reading stories aloud. I have read one...Lilith Loraine's "The Jovian Jest." https://www.bitchute.com/video/D1aVo0ALAd5d/
I picked that one because someone else had read it SO badly I just couldn't stand it. There are a few others I would like to read aloud with commentary as they've been so badly interpreted by some younger and highly programmed readers. But this podcasting thing is pretty new to me and I'm just feeling my way around at this point. Maybe next year I'll read some of the stories and then comment. It might be fun...
Yes, the Wingmakers materials, I know it well.
I've always meant to read "Valis" but have never gotten around to it. At least not yet.
I feel like I should know Colin Wilson's work but can't call it to mind at the moment.
I enjoy his Spider World series. Recently acquired third book The Magician.
He wrote about the occult and paranormal quite a lot...
I listen to podcasts or audible while doing chores or making dinner. Clif High I can listen to at 2X speed, but YOU I have to leave on normal speed to follow. Not all the "uhs" and "ums" and dead space and redundancy.
You could set yourself up a little sound making selection for effects, old radio story style. Or just read snippets...
I think humanity is too desensitized and dead for War of the Worlds to have the same effect.
Sounds so familiar...
Lots of parallels I can't even begin to name.
When are you going to just read the stories?!
😉😉
Even echoes in VALIS by PKD which I'm currently listening to.
And in Mysteries by Colin Wilson which I'm reading.
And in the Wingmakers material...
Thanks for the recs and spoilers!

I agree about War of the Worlds.
About the podcasting...it's an interesting journey. I'm curious to see where it takes me.
